About Us
We are a Baptist church in the mountains above Bakersfield, California, in Lake Isabella. Our purpose is to impact the surrounding areas with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are an active church and a place where people and truth are loved. We believe that preaching should be central and relevant, prayer is powerful, and family is vital. We believe that you should do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
What We Believe
We believe that the 66 books of the Bible are God’s inspired revelation to man. They are the very word of God, without error, completely authoritative, essential, sufficient, and trustworthy, and constitute the only infallible rule for truth and life. It is our constant privilege to read, study, teach, obey, and model God’s word in order to be truthful and loving ambassadors for Christ to our world.
Our Mission
The mission of the church was laid out by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28 “make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.” Here at Mountain View Baptist Church, we’ve adopted a mission statement, central ministry focus, and guiding principles that embrace the mission set forth by Christ Himself.
